What Is Offered

A Plus Tutoring provides assistance in reading, writing, and mathematics.

Students practice multiple strategies to improve reading fluency, comprehension, and skills, which will benefit them in the classroom and in life. Students read books and short stories from all genres and demonstrate understanding and reading skills through multiple informal assessments such as reader's theaters, book talks, and extensions.

Students improve writing skills by creating stories and informational texts that interest them. From taking a nature walk and writing about something that catches his or her eye to reading a book or short story and writing a response and/or extension of the story, students learn to enjoy putting their passion into words on paper.

Students use hands-on STEM strategies and number sense to solve and rationalize math problems. They practice relationships between numbers, patterns and designs in mathematics, and using multiple intelligences to improve skills in math facts, operations, and solving problems.
